Reserves Lose Wed 15th Nov 2000 10:49 Town reserves lost 2-0 to Spurs last night, but more importantly Town seem to be involved in a minor goalkeeping crisis. Mike Salmon had to come off after 18 minutes suffering with a hand injury and was replaced by youngster Tomi Niemi. With James Pullen out for six weeks with a finger problem Town have a few problems in the keeping department. Keith Branagan is without a game after his knee problem, but seems likely to take to the bench on Saturday. Of course Richard Wright is a man rarely injured so we are unlikely to need the services of any other keeper anyway. |
Wright Left Out Thu 28th Sep 2000 14:43 Richard Wright has again been left out of the full England squad and again David James takes his place. Former Town star Kieron Dyer is included in a squad which sees old boys Gazza and Stuart Pearce missing. David Beckham is vice-captain in Sol Campbell's absence. |
Millwall 2-0 Town Wed 20th Sep 2000 01:24 The Blues fell to a Worthington Cup second round first leg defeat as they failed to take chance after chance as well as making errors at the back. Town kicked off with Martijn Reuser in a four man midfield with Matt Holland on the bench. Gary Croft came into the side for Fabian Wilnis, John Scales for the injured Titus Bramble and David Johnson for Marcus Stewart. Rain lashed the New Den throughout and made the surface difficult at times. |
That Was The Week This Was Thu 01st Jun 2000 14:39 What a week, eh? One that no Town fan will ever forget. Has it sunk in yet? We are Premier League, we are Premier League. |
Wright in Provisional Squad Mon 15th May 2000 16:10 Town keeper Richard Wright and former Blues star Kieron Dyer have both been included in Kevin Keegan's provisional 28-man England squad which will play friendlies against Brazil and the Ukraine. |
Reserves Win Thu 09th Mar 2000 11:46 Town reserves beat Barnet reserves 2-1 yesterday at Underhill to go into the final of the Avon Insurance League Cup. Town's goals came from Jonas Axeldal who is continuing his reserve scoring streak. There were quite a number of first team players in the Town side and despite a poor first half Town were deserved winners. Team: Branagan, Stockwell, Croft, J Miller, Tanner (Inglis), Venus, Maurel, Holster, Naylor (A Miller), Axeldal and Friars. |
Wright in England Squad Thu 17th Feb 2000 14:13 Town keeper Richard Wright has been named in the full England squad as expected along with former team-mate Kieron Dyer. |
